A new source for ruby and pink sapphire was discovered, this is at Lake Baringo of Kenya. It has yielded 350 stones. The largest amongst weighs 3.71 and 2.80 carats.

Make way for Kathy Hilton's diamond ruffled jacket. At the Women's Project 22nd Annual Women of Achievement Gala with playwright Eve Ensler and designer Vivienne Tam, Kathy Hilton was honored.

Lazare Kaplan had conceptualized the design of the jacket. The jacket contains 2 pounds of platinum and 300 carats of diamonds. It is a loaner for Kathy and it's worth more or less $1,000,000.00.
